My gosh, the guy admits it and our liberal friends still jump to the defense. If Obama wants to appoint him Czar of recycling or Czar of Acorn liason, that would be one thing. But SAFE SCHOOLS Czar?
Sometimes past activities disqualify someone from a particular job. Like KKK membership would disqualify someone from a leadership role in the Congress............Uh oh, bad example, we HAVE a past KKK member in a leadership role in congress.

I guess I can't take the leap to ostracize someone from a few soundbites and lines from a book. Someone who has probably made a huge difference in many children's lives and probably had the unique educational experience for the job, especially since he was gay and may have been a victim of bullies, but hardly feel that was a qualifier for the position. Perhaps he made the right decision at that time. Maybe the boy's parents were not aware of his sexual activities. Shedding light on the situation could have had disastrous consequences. Statistics show that gay kids at that age have higher suicide rates than straight children. The boy was hardly a baby either, and in all likelihood, not a virgin.
What else could someone possibly do other than promote safe sex, which probably saved his life. The extreme fringe religious loons are even saying he is not religious and trying to indoctrinate the school children. That is false as well. He is a devout Christian who strayed for a while, something many people have done when conflicted in their lives.

I have no problem with this man in this position. The only problem I have with him is he looks like Mr. Rogers and I have had that song in my head all day..... "Won't you be my neighbor?"~
