"Vodka eyeballing"
It seems as if teenagers are getting bored of regular drinking and now some are taking things to the extreme with "vodka eyeballing".
The term "vodka eyeballing" involves pouring vodka directly onto the surface of the eye. Apparently, kids believe that pouring vodka into their eyes will get them drunk faster and they will pour 80-100 proof vodka directly from the bottle or out of a shot glass.
This bizarre drinking trend is sweeping across the country as well as the United Kingdom, however, Dr. Bret Fisher, Director of the Eye Center of North Florida, says there is a serious risk for scarring the eye tissues and the cornea that can eventually lead to blindness.
"Pouring alcohol on the surface of your eye is very painful it can cause immediate loss of surface tissue a lot of infection can result. It's like having a big scratch in your eye it's really uncomfortable, but long term it could cause scaring, loss of vision, and even permanent blindness in some rare cases," said Fisher.
Dr. Fisher adds that this concept is a myth putting vodka in your eye does not get you drunker, faster.
Then we just find other ways.
Too too funny! Another excellent example of simple, effective, inexpensive, getting back-to-basics!!!!
