 Show off :D This does present a question. Where do you local 30A peeps vacation?

Interesting that you should ask. I like to vacation in Chatanooga. Just kidding. I hear many locals say, after vacationing in the Carribean, that the beaches of SoWa are much better, and that they made a poor choice for a vacation. I enjoy a get away up to the mountains, ie Montreat, NC. Also out west to Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. However, lately, I've been thinking about building my "get-away cabin" in Freeport. If you know your history, you remember that SoWal was the get-away place for people in Open Pond, today known as DeFuniak Springs.

I like to go to the mountains or a city - something different than the beach. Though I don't often feel the need for a vacation like I did living other places. Sometimes I stay gulf front in SoWal for a weekend to get away from the computer.

I'm new. We are coming down in July, bringing a crew with us. I am soooooo looking forward to coming down and sitting on the beach. I have really enjoyed reading about the great places to eat. I'm a planner and am in charge of our mini family reunion, this message board has been great. My son is wanting to swim with the dolphins, any ideas? He is a certified scuba diver and wants to dive as well, any ideas? He's planning on playing golf and the Regatta Golf Club, anyone have any input on that? We are staying in the Grayton Beach State Park, some in RVs, some in tents, and some in cabins. You guys sound like a great bunch of people!!!!!

Welcome KS :welcome:

Most of the dolphin meet and greet is out of panama city. I've heard that they offer the Flippers hot dogs and that they are politely accepted and then spit out unbeknownst to the offerer (after all they get the best sushi all day long).

Most people dive in either Panama City or Destin where there are dive companies and artificial reefs.
