Anyone know a Steel Pan player in the local area?

We will be launching our new South Walton H.S. Steel Pan Band soon and I would like someone with experience to come help out. We will have LOTS of beginners!

I've never even heard of a "steep pan." What the heck is that?

"Steep pan" ? must be what you use to cook a deep pan pizza?

Oh, I see now. "Steel" pan, maybe as in what we call "steel drum?" The thread title is a typo.

I know a musician who does play the steel drums, but he mostly stays in P'cola, and wouldn't likely be able to help out if it isn't for pay.

Yep, they are commonly called steel drums but the proper name is steel pan. We will start practicing in mid to late November, that is when we expect the drums to arrive. We will hopefully have a few spring concerts in the area. I will post a link as soon as I can access youtube.com It will be later this afternoon though.
