There are three vitally important issues on the agenda for Tuesday's BCC meeting in DeFuniak Springs.
1. The special magistrate issue
2. The 1/2 cent sales tax for infrastructure
3. The North fire study will be presented.
Each of these could have far-reaching consequences for taxpayers across the county. Use of a special magistrate will limit the ability of ordinary citizens to address development issues, the sales tax could be a slush fund for special interests unless a detailed list of proposed projects and a sunset date are included and huge increases in the North Walton fire budget will place a huge tax burden on someone and will siphon money for other infrastructure needs. I realize 9am is right in the middle of the workday but everyone who can needs to come and express their opinion and desires regarding these issues.
