Yeah, my husband never goes barefoot; he puts on his shoes as soon as he gets out of bed, regardless of the season - he's a true Yankee. I despise wearing shoes, and only wear them in the house if we have guests, so I totally can't relate to socks with sandals. When my daughter was at MIT, she wore flip-flops even in below-zero weather; YAY, I RAISED HER AS A TRUE SOUTHERN GIRL!

Beach Runner..............we are twin sisters of different mothers!!!!! I hate shoes, I would wear flips all year long if my hubby wouldnt get on my case!!! I too only wear shoes in the house if I have company!!!!!!! :clap_1:

Our daughters probably are southerners, then. We live in Michigan and they're still wearing their flip flops on some days...
Maybe flip-flops are a generational thing, not a Southern thing? Dunno. I just know that she was the only person I saw "up north" wearing flip-flops in the cold weather.

I won't let her wear them to church on Sundays, even though I allow them at other inappropriate times (like when it's really cold). Always causes an argument.

I am with you girls...I HATE shoes, I never have shoes on in my house....even if I have company. They all know me, and know that I hate them. If I did not have to work, I would probably not even own any shoes. That is the first thing I do every day when I come home from work..kick of the shoes!!! Did I mention, I hate them???

You are so right about the barefoot/filp flop thing. I never wear shoes in the house either. I don't even like to wear socks - - I have to have totally "bare" feet. My husband (Yankee) ALWAYS has socks on, even in th summer. So weird to me. And I, too, push the sandles thing in my attire for as long as possible. When it's snowing out, then I change to closed toed shoes! My co-workers laugh at me!

:clap_1: my kind of gal :clap_1:
