This thread brought to mind a Sunday school song I have not sung since I was five years old...
"Don't build your house on the sandy land.
Don't build it to near the shore.
Well it mike look kind of nice,
But you'll have to build it twice.
Then you'll have to build your house once more."
Silly, I know, but oh so true.
I guess we could add another line to the song: "unless it's a multi-million dollar investment."
