Thinking about going to Gulf Place tonight for the concert but haven't heard of the band - Southern Rememdy. I found a band with the same name on MySpace but they're from Scotland and probably not the same group...anyone know about the band tonight and what kind of music they play? Thanks.

The Band is called Southern Remedy, a local band, and they are classic blues and rock. Real good band. Worth the trip to see them. I've seen them several times now and they are establishing a great following. I think they start at 7:00

Gulf Place is can be alot of fun no matter who's playing
It's an atmosphere that works
People are enjoying the end of a weekend kicking back, having drinks, and people watching
Kids are running around having a blast meeting other kids
I think it's the icing of a weekend

How'd we get so lucky? :D

A bunch of noise

What a big disappointment. I really look forward to the concerts at Gulf Place every Sunday and they have done a great job this year with the selection of Bands but tonight was terrible.
It was so bad that I walked up to a guy that looked like he was in charge of the sound and expressed my opinion. Too loud, crackling speaker and too much Bass. He told me Rock and Roll is suppose to be LOUD!!!!
We lasted about 45 mins. hoping they would take a brake or get it together.
Did not happen. Hope you all did not waste your time.

Hey Jude,

Everyone HEARD your complaint about the crackling speaker and too much bass. You announced it to the whole crowd! You should have stayed because after the sound problem was fixed it was an awesome concert. Everone there commented and talked about how good Southern Remedy is. Every venue has to have some adjustments, especially open air concerts. You were very impatient, should have stayed a bit longer and you would have enjoyed a great concert. They were even called out for an encore. You may just be the type that wouldn't be happy even when you are at a free concert!
