Bark Park Inc., a community effort to establish an off-leash dog park in Walton County, is hosting a fund raiser to celebrate the acquisition of a thirty year land lease agreement with Walton County. All park facilities and infrastructures are to be funded through private donations.
Romancing Rover: Love Your Pet, Love Your Park, a Valentine's Day themed fund raiser, is taking place Feb. 12, from 12 to 3 p.m., at Gulf Place on County Road 30A. The event is pet-friendly, and there will be a Most Romantic Pet Contest ($20.00 entry fee) with prizes. All pets must be on a non-retractable leash or in a carrier.
The two acre park is to be located on JD Miller Road (one block west of Hwy 331 and Hwy 98), in South Walton County. Everyone and all well-behaved pets are welcome. Estimated cost to open the park is $30,000.
