Fonville Press is actively seeking an experienced and passionate bartender to join the team. For this position, candidates must be able to wear many bar-focused hats and wear them well. Bartenders must have a strong work ethic, maintain a positive attitude, and enjoy a fast-paced environment in a guest-facing role. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Creating, preparing, garnishing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages consistent with the restaurants’ standard drink recipes while tending to bar patrons
- Receiving orders and serving food to guests dining at the bar
- Maintaining bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner
- Assisting in restocking bar inventory and supplies in addition to required side work
- Remaining educated on all menu offerings
- Responding to any requests or questions about the menu, dietary restrictions, and other restaurant functions/ services
- Preparing and presenting guests with the bill, processing payments, and reporting all gratuities received to comply with IRS standards of reporting income
Minimum Requirements:
- 21 years or older with 1-2 years of prior bartending experience
- Positive, go-getter attitude
- Ready to assist staff as needed and be a team player
- Ability to communicate effectively with managers, employees, and guests
- Flexible schedule to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
- Constant standing and walking with the occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, or lifting
