I think moving the bike path to the south side is a bad idea because:
1. Motorists will have to stop and wait for pedestrians on both the east and west sides of 30a/395 intersection. During peak season, this will be slower than what we currently have.
2. Pedestrians will have to cross 30a twice to get through the intersection. This could get dangerous.
I say keep the pedestrian path where it is. Adding a right turn lane onto 395 is cool. And with a light there, it will be safer and faster for everybody.
But as long as we're dreaming, how about elevating the north side pedestrian path so it goes up over 395 instead of what's in these 3 plans? Motorists don't have to stop for pedestrians. Pedestrians don't have to worry about getting hit in the intersection. Everybody wins.
