Best Fine Dining In Destin?

We have a group of eight taking a limo in for dinner from Pensacola. We would like good food, most will order steak, good atmosphere and wine list.
Any suggestions? Prefer to stay in Destin area, afraid to go too far into 30A due to time. Unless, of course, it was a restaurant we could not pass up.

Maybe Commanders Palace? Didn't get a chance to go this winter, but it looks like a great place to try. Lots of great places your going to miss on 30A tho.

If you don't want to mosey out to 30A I think The Marina Cafe is still the best in Destin...as for The Commanders Palace it is a pale imitation of the original in New Orleans

We tried Commander's Palace last summer and absolutely loved it. We've never been to the original, so I can't say how to compare. Atmosphere was great and the food was top quality. Be sure and ask for a window with a good view of the water.

I'd go the few extra miles from P-Cola to South Walton for fine dining. When you get to Sandestin in South Walton you'll have a number of excellent choices. Seagar's, a steak restaurant in the Sandestin Hilton in Miramar Beach, gets rave reviews for a SoWal restaurant. Further into SoWal, along 30A, is just super and you'd be glad you made the trip. I've seen lots of limos at SoWals Cafe 30A, Bud n Alley's at Seaside and Fish Out of Water at WaterColor, etc. All the stars that have been here recently have been seen at many of SoWals fine restaurants. Have a wonderful dining experience.
