I am from TN and will be in Blue Mountain Beach the first weekend of October. My friend and I are huge college football fans and need suggestions for a great sports bar to watch games on that Saturday. I typically head to Ballyhoo but would love to see what else is out there. Any help is appreciated! Thank you! :D

Ballyhoo does have a nice big tv on the porch. Johnny Mctighes has a few tvs and great food and I think JCs does football too. Maybe some of the other sowalers have more info on JCs. JC's and Mctighes are both in Blue Mtn. Also Shades at the end of 30a is a great sports bar and I am addicted to their Philly Cheese Steak Sammy. I recently discovered Castaways at Carillon Beach. They have enough Tvs to show all the games and a giant projection screen for the main game. They also do specials and trivia during the game. I highly recommend the sliders. Yummy! And on 98, Steamboat also shows the games and serves up delicious wings and other tasty treats. All of these places have a full bar and full menu. Enjoy your stay!

I assume you mean a place where the TVs have closed-captioning and when you cheer for your team, people don't think you are rude. If so, the best place is Shades on the Loop at the east end of 30A because they have so many TVs.

If you can control yourself and not bother other patrons, even the bar at Borago is good. The bar at Red Bar is good too because misbehaving is okay there, although if Niles is there, the Gators get the best TV. To be perfectly honest, I don't remember if the TVs at Stinky's have closed-captioning or not, but they always have games on. Bruno's is bad because they only have on Alabama. Pizza Bar isn't good because you have to mind your manners, they don't have all of the channels, and no closed-captioning.

We are big Gator fans who are at the beach a lot during football and basketball season, so we have scoped that out. BTW the Gators need to remember to play in the first half. Also Pouncey needs to get his act together as center.

Hope this helps.

:D So Red Bar is the place to go for Gators fans...great to hear. I am in Sandestin and feel as if I am the only fan there. Guess I will have to make the drive to Grayton

Thanks!

Thank you :) I appreciate your honesty! We will also be watching the Michigan game, do you know of any place that carries the Big 10 Network? Never hurts to ask :) Have a good one!
