BOLO - Armed Robbery Suspect on the Run from Tom Thumb in Seagrove Beach

Walton County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) Investigating Armed Robbery of Convenience Store Patron

WCSO Patrol Deputies are currently on scene investigating an armed robbery of a patron at the Tom Thumb located at 3871 E County Highway 30A east, Seagrove Place. Shortly before 8 am this morning, the victim stated a black male, wearing a dark blue or black hoody with a thin white stripe and a red and white shirt underneath the hoody, brandished a silver revolver and demanded the victim’s wallet. The suspect is described as 25 to 30 years of age, approximately 6 feet tall and has possible gold or silver caps on his teeth. The suspect fled north from the convenience store after the incident and the victim was not injured. This is the not the same suspect that was involved with the EZ Serve armed robbery, located at 10970 Co Highway 30A east, on January 27th.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking assistance from the public that if they see an individual fitting the description, please do not approach him and call law enforcement immediately at 850.892.8111 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850.863.TIPS.

The wife of the man who was robbed at gun point reported the incident on facebook this morning. She reported that she lives near the Tom Thumb. Her husband was robbed in the rear parking lot near his car. She said the WCSO were on the scene within minutes. The search is going on in the area by officers, and also by helicopter.

This is crazy! 2 armed roberries within a week! Please, please, please pray this isn't going to become the norm around here!

Thank God this didn't happen during peak season. Officers may not have gotten there with all the congestion.

Warnings should be posted in Destin and PCB alerting tourists to the dangers of the 30A area.

We live in one of the safest places on earth - one of the things I love about South Walton. But, we still have occasional criminal activity.. And we're shocked when it happens. Just remember to lock doors and stay aware (eyes on your surroundings, not your phone).

Spring Break is another matter. Being safe and vigilant is very important for families (locals and visitors).

And when its tourist season, the cops can't navigate 30a due to all the construction, golf carts, bikes and other distractions!!! They told us this would be the next PCB!!!
