Try a thread search on this site for fire permit. There have been multiple discussions here. I think it is $50 per fire and you have to buy an approved container. Locals know where to get the permit, but I have never done it. Best of luck!
See the nice folks at the Development Services Division at the South Walton Courthouse Annex. They can hook you up with a permit and explain the rules. Phone is 267-1955; location is right upon entering the building, then all the way to the window at the end of the hallway. Closed today and tomorrow for Christmas, but will be open on next Monday.
