Bright Futures Scholarship Takes a Hit!

Why raise the standard? Aren't we encouraging kids to go to school by providing tuition assistance? I am sure that if they are not cut out for college they weed themselves out but I want to a least give them the opportunity.

The reason I suggested raising the standards slightly is that there are going to have to be cuts somewhere and I would rather higher standards than a quota, lottery, or individual funding cut. I think the program is a great idea, but was amazed at how little you had to do to earn a taxpayer funded college education.
