:shock: bomb scare? My daughter called me about a month ago and said they had a bomb threat at her school...she had never experienced this before...freeked her out...I told her that when I was in college and high school we got them quite frequently...mostly pranks and kids trying to get out of tests.....

Just checked with WCSO - extra security has been provided to Butler and to Emerald Coast and everything is fine right now. I was advised not to worry (yeah right), and certainly NOT to go speeding over there (they know me well), and that parents will be notified if that changes.
Mr. Deputy ShallowsNole is off today, but he may be easing that way just to check. If I hear more, I'll post.

I just called Emerald Coast; the students there are having a "normal" school day; they are not locked down. Meta did not know if Butler still is or not and said to direct all questions to the School District. That # is 892-1100.

My senior year at UGA we had a campus wide lockdown for about an hour because of a shooting at a housing project nearby one of the parking decks. Apparently the guy ran somewhere on campus.
Man I remember those days.....

There was a lock down at Butler this morning, and there were about a dozen officers there. Word is that someone called in a threat and left it on the voicemail. The lock down was over about 11am or so.
