Hand Building Clay Workshop: Christmas Tree Luminaries with Jessica Batson
WHEN: Oct. 21 & Nov. 12
TIME: Varies by Date
COST: $50
Make Christmas tree luminaries for the holiday season. Students create their own art while learning some ceramics hand building techniques using slabs. In each class you will create 2 trees. The pieces are fired and glazed by the instructor and available for pick up 2-3 weeks after the class.
Introduction to Wheel with Jessica Batson
WHEN: Nov. 15th, 16th, 18th and Dec. 1st.
TIME: 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM
COST: $250.00
Join Jessica Batson as she teaches the basics of wheel throwing with clay, in a 4 course workshop. Two days of creating, a day with trimming decorating and finishing, and then a day of glazing.
This course is meant to teach you the fundamentals of ceramics and wheel throwing- such as centering and pulling, creating mugs and bowls, and the final steps of glazing your bisque wear work. Beginners welcome and encouraged during this course of clay!
This class is available to ages 18 and up. No make-up days/classes are available for missed time.

Pastels with Melody Bogle
WHEN: Oct. 25
TIME: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
COST: Cost is $30/members and $35/non-members.
Join talented artist Melody Bogle on Tuesdays at the Bayou Arts Center from 9am to Noon for a weekly class based on continued growth in the process of painting with Pastels. Includes types and differences in supports and pastels and the types of under paintings. Working from personal photos students can produce art that has a personal meaning for them.

Watercolor with Karen Peterson
WHEN: Oct. 26
TIME: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
COST: Cost is $30/members and $35/non-members.
Join talented artist Karen Peterson on Wednesdays at the Bayou Arts Center from 9am to Noon for a weekly Watercolor painting class.
Karen tries to introduce many different techniques and styles through planned paintings. She provides a sketch for each class, and participants will proceed in a step-by-step process, until everyone completes the painting of the day. Although everyone begins with the same sketch, all paintings turn out differently because of each artists innate style.
