Camp Creek River

After the heavy rains of last week, camp creek lake outfall broke through in a dramatic display. It was perhaps the largest breach I've seen of any coastal lake in the area. Kids were riding the rapids from the lake as the waters were racing to the gulf.

That lake was bursting at the seams. I can't believe it took this long. I sure wish it would have waited a week so my kids could have rode the rapids. I always tell them about the various lakes breaking through and wish they could experience it.

Who knows. We may get some more rain and something else may happen before I get them Monday. I saw Lake Powel in a pretty substantial break last year. I may have a change of plans and go check out Camp creek tomorrow rather than other things I had considered.
