I hope they have a good turn out. We have had a roller coaster ride of emotions with this situation.

Our family friend from Nashville on the mission trip is back home, safe. Only due to the fact they stopped at a local grocery are they alive. They were late arriving to dinner at their location and everyone at the house died, those late survived.

However, a mission group from a Dallas Methodist church a partner church to ours here in Memphis, were not so lucky. Several were injuried and while waiting for medical attention, one has died. Many from our church have been on missions to Haiti with this group.

We have a close friend that owns and operates a free medical clinic in Haiti and he had just been there and gotten home days before the quake. Many of his staff did not survive though.

We have close friends that have been sent there to help and the limited messages coming from there are so horrific, that it is hard to imagine. Now they are dealing with gunshot wounds from looting in addition to the earthquake trauma.

So please continue your support and prayers for all.

Please report back- wish we could make it over.

There was a good turnout, considering the short notice.
The entire campus is busy organizing donations and doing what we can for the students who are from Haiti many of whom do not yet know about their families.

We are a very diverse campus with a large group of International students and many military members or spouses who have traveled far and wide. The entire campus community pulls together when something like this happens.

This is such a huge disaster, nothing any of us does seems like enough,.
