Can't Even Believe I'm asking this, but...

If I cook a corned beef in my crock pot, can I put the cabbage in the same time I put in the beef, or do I wait and add it later....
Also, do I add water.

Hey that is what we are here for, to help our fellow SoWallers out!! I would put everything in at the same time. And yes I would add enough water to cover the corned beef. I am sure other's will tell you something else. But this is how I do it. I like my cabbage mushy!!!!

Well, honestly, I don't eat it, but hubby bought it and said he wanted it...sometimes you just have to do things to make them happy. I figure by the time we get around to eating, we'll have so much beer in us, who care what it taste like

add beer...not water!!! Seriously..I put beer, vinegar and sugar in the crock to make a great corned beef...and I usually add the cabbage later.(also put in pickeling spices) the chef has spoken )

You're ahead of me, I've never fixed corned beef - crock pot or otherwise.

yes...enough to cover...about 2 beers plus about 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar and 1/2 cup BROWN sugar
