Sorry, it's probably obvious, but what are they building at Grand Blvd in front of the christmas trees - CVS? Walgreens? I should know by the design but I drove by too fast.

I certainly don't think I'm sacrificing my quality of life by limiting my chicken options by avoiding establishments with a creepy cult-like following.
all Major and independent Gas stations have cult followings.....this should stop you within a few days.

If you think about it, all oil and gasoline is produced by huge profit-driven corporations with no thought to protecting the environment. If we all boycotted them (and I find them kind of creepy) we would all be creeping...

I personally am not aware of people cheerleading for Tom Thumb as though it's some sort of righteous holy ground. For me and I think most of us, buying gasoline is a pure business transaction and our alternatives are limited. Atmosphere means atleast something when it comes to restaurants, not so much when filling the tank, using the bathroom, and buying rubbers. There are plenty delicious healthy food options to Chick Fil A. Maybe I don't know what I'm missing, but as I said, at this point in my life, the allure isn't there. My fast food days are winding down, though I am going to give Panda Express a shot just out of curiousity. Any dirt on the Panda?

I have no doubt he is a nice man, but later that same year when the SCOTUS struck down DOMA Mr. Cathy tweeted, "Sad day for our nation; founding fathers would be ashamed of our gen. to abandon wisdom of the ages re: cornerstone of strong societies..."

I'm not taking a side on this one way or another, but Mr. Cathy's remarks are the privilege of being a private company much as the same as Hobby Lobby's stance and subsequent Supreme Court case on having to pay for abortions due to Obama Care. They own it. They can say what they want.

Regardless of that, while Mr. Cathy's remarks surely pissed off a lot of folk it also generated boat loads of support. Their restaurants were packed to the gills after all that. I can't find any evidence that it had any impact on their bottom dollar. I have a friend who owns one of the busiest ones in Atlanta. He said there was no negative effect.

No one is claiming he can't say what he wants and no one is trying to put them out of business so I fail to see your point on Chic-fil-A. On Hobby Lobby you are so far off the facts we'll just leave that one alone.

Really, that's the worst thing you can say about Asian food. It should never be bland. There is really no excuse for that. I still have to try it.

West of Pier Park right on 98 on south side, I think. In the ballpark anyway.

Exactly.

It's far from perfect, but much more relative to Chinese food than Taco Bell is to Mexican food.

I'm not into boycotting businesses because I don't agree with their politics. I do try to buy American made stuff when I can find it.

I wasn't taking issue with your assessment. I mean i appreciate it. I won't be disappinted now. I only expect to go there about as often as pandas mate in captivity even if I like the place.

What is the Fair Food Program?

What is the Fair Food Program?

It's a program that encourages stores to sell corn dogs, fried Twinkies, gator nuts, pigeon toes, and other nutritious wholesome foods like you would find at county fairs.

Wait, that's wrong. It's actually a program encouraging stores to pay a penny per pound more for tomatoes to give farm workers a better quality of life. It's more complicated than my simplified answer. Just google "fair food program" and read their FAQ's.

Farm workers as in "undocumented workers"?

Bob, you do realize that Leader, Poppy, Lake View, me and a host of others live in a pansexual communal living arrangement. Our posts require large group discussions and more white boards than the school system has in play. Andy and Seaducer's paranoia isn't all based on fear and chain emails.

Farm workers as in "slave labor" to keep your produce prices low. If they even made minimum wage you'd be paying $20+ per pound of tomatoes.
