Does anyone know of any services locally that have Christmas Tree recycling? We usually just put it to the curb with the trash or burn it, but I've heard of many other things to do with them.

I heard about a group that takes the trees sinks them into ponds or wetlands for fish and wildlife.

Any thoughts or suggestions on who to contact?

Thanks

Channel 13 had something on the news about where in Walton County you could get it made into mulch. But I didn't hear where, and it is not on their website. Maybe give the county public information office a call. 892-8155

I just watched the 6 report and it was at the Blue Mountain Beach holding area on CR 83. Bring a tree, get a bag of mulch. They are also doing the same thing at the main landfill in DeFuniak Springs.

I don't think the tree/mulch exchange applies to the Blue Mtn Beach location, only the Panama City recycle station.

Update:
at the location north of 30A on CR83, they are receiving christmas trees on

Dec 27-Dec 28
and
Dec 31-Jan 3

8:30am-2:30pm
