School superintendents said the system of countywide districts works well and saves taxpayers' money. They said increasing the number of school districts statewide would cause administrative costs to skyrocket, without actually improving student outcomes.

How would it work in Walton County?

They consolidated many of the city districts in Alabama because the funding was not there and the schools struggled to provide many of the programs parents wanted.
