Community Walton is starting a youth group to perform various service projects within Walton County. The goal is for our middle and high school kids to grow in the appreciation of helping those in need within our community. We are having our initial "kick-off" meeting this Thursday, December 3rd at 5:00. Jane Burns has been gracious enough to offer the conference room in her Edward Jones office in Blue Mountain Beach (across from For the Health of It). Pizza will be served while we allow the kids to brainstorm different ways of getting involved and helping the community in 2010.
Our first service project is decorating a "Tree of Hope" for the Path of Grace home in Freeport the afternoon of December 12th. We have various youth creating "hope" ornaments to encourage the women on their path to recovery.
Have a middle or high school youth in Walton County or are interested in helping the youth that have already committed? Please feel free to join us on Thursday.
