It was an evening of celebration and recognition as the Walton County Educational Association and Walton County School Board presented the Teacher of the Year and the Educational Support Professional of the Year. This year’s event took place at Walton High School.
And the winners for Teacher of the Year are:
Bay Elementary – Courtney Clark, District Office – Dennis Oros, Emerald Coast Middle School – Connie Morreale, Freeport Elementary – Molly Goldbach, Freeport High – April Adams, Freeport Middle – Susanne Winter, Maude Saunders Elementary – Deb Shost, Mossy Head Elementary – Randella Lindsey, Paxton School Elementary – Pat Permenter, Paxton School Secondary – Melanie Griep, South Walton High – Sharon Houp, Van R. Butler Elementary – Tulin Koch, Walton Career Development Center – Leslie Harrison, Walton High – Cheryl Salle, Walton Middle – Jodi Howell, West DeFuniak Elementary – Pam Leavins, WISE Center – Bessie Miller.

Speaking three languages and leaving the business world to get a degree in early childhood education, the ESP of the Year is, Justina Pickard. Her son came down from his military station to be with Justina.
And while new to the Walton School District, but not new to education, the Teacher of the Year is, Randella Lindsey. She says her many years in the Okaloosa District were happy, but coming to Mossy Head is a whole new level of happiness.
