Construction on "Swampy" Lot on South Lake Drive

I used to live near there. This construction could be big trouble in the future. Over 20 years ago, someone filled in a swampy area on my former street. We had major flooding this spring and all last summer as a result.

The builder is back up and running. From what I was told they are planning two houses on pilings, three stories tall, both houses WITH POOLS!!!! I live in the neighborhood and am absolutely shocked that this was approved. For those who aren't familiar with the area. The two lots were literally swamps. I don't mean just low land, I mean under water.

Not sure what the county was thinking on this one. Who at the county can explain how this was approved?

Speaking as an observer, I think this is the situation that came up at a county commission meeting in January. It led to the commission establishing new regulations for lots in the vicinity of the dune lakes.
