By chance, does anyone have info on the status of the private beach access at Cottages/Gulfview Estates in seacrest? I'm sure it's not been rebuilt yet but I have a renter who'd like to know the ETA...

Curious for myself, too. I have a dog who just didn't understand why we couldnt give her her sunrise walk in her very favorite place last month. We'll be down again 3rd week of August, it would be nice if it's open by then. How can I let this face down? ;-)

HOA President says " It will be after November unless someone is willing to personally ante up the $45,000 for re-construction. :sosad:

No, Katie Blue (rhymes with moo) the Cottages at Camp Creek access has been rebuilt and is OPEN!!! It was finished over the past weekend and is looking good. We went down to the beach this evening. Some interesting things going on with retaining walls and backhoes . . . I hope some people get some sea oats planted before all their new sand blows away.

However, the water is WARM and there is white sand right at the shore line. So come on down!!!!

We'll all be receiving our invoices soon, but I'm sure it didn't cost $45,000.

This may be true.

I am speaking of the Whites Gulf View beach access. Is the HOA of cottages allowing the neighbors to use their access or are they restricting access ala Seaside.

Well, this just made my day! I sure didn't expect that so soon.

On top of that, some forecasters are predicting that the Gulf may be spared from the majority of the horrendous hurricane activity we're going to face this year...this is from MSNBC 2 days ago:

"Joe Bastardi, a meteorologist with private forecasting company AccuWeather, predicted most of the remaining storms this year will take a more easterly path than the June and July storms that entered the Gulf of Mexico.

?The most action will be from Aug. 15 to Oct. 15 along the Eastern Seaboard. I?m targeting the Carolinas for the worst,? Bastardi said. ?Also, there will be (landfalls) in New England and the Florida coast.?

I'm going to allow myself to feel optimistic that we're on the mend right now and that the worst is over for the Gulf side. I may be wrong, (we have 3 months to go), and I wish no harm to the eastern coast, but I'll take any slice of good news I can get right now, and run with it. :clap_1:
