And we know one special person that does. Don't we DD?

I don't know how special it makes me, but it's what I do every day of my life..well, except for weekends.

I didn't know that!
yep....18 years now.

YES!!!!!!   she has to have mucho patience...she is a friend to me......
Oh Allifunn!!! I'll always be your friend!

I love the elderly people I work for. I do not, however like the "business" part of the nursing facility. And, don't even get me started on Medicaid/state funding....:pissed:
I have about a million stories...mr. dd keeps telling me I need to write a book or a sitcom. Yes, sometimes, it is quite humorous. And, it's ALWAYS entertaining and rewarding. There are SOME sad stories and some stiuations that are sad, but on the most part, every day brings at least ONE experience that makes you walk away thinking....now THAT makes it all worth it!
And BTW, the crabby ones are ALWAYS my favorites!! Just ask my nurses!

Ditto here.

It's been a tough week. We've lost five. Seems like it always comes in waves. :sosad: But I just try to remember that most of the time, they are ready, and happy, to go. It's just so hard on those of us who love them. :sosad:

And speaking of funny stories, when my dad was a new resident in a nursing home in north FL, he was 83. He despised having to go. But the women who were around the same age were all a titter with excitement with him moving in. Giggling like young school girls, racing up and down the hallway outside his room. The nurses told me that many of the ladies asked for their birth control pills so they could get togerher with my dad!! He broke several hearts - - he wouldn't give them the time of day as he had always dated younger women, like 60 & 70 yr. olds! :rotfl: It was comical to watch this. He would just roll his eyes.
