Do any of you have CREDO mobile service or are familiar with it?

My daughter's plan doesn't expire until February and she could use a smart phone with her work in journalism. This might be a way she doesn't have to wait, plus we already have Sprint and know it's service area works adequate for her.

Any thoughts on the company, phones, plans etc.?

I think goodwitch uses them.
Thanks! I just looked at Sprint plans (w/unlimited texting included) and it is a better deal even with CREDO's free phone & 10% off monthly. It's just that her Sprint plan has so much time left on it. CREDO's offer to cover the cancellation fee helps though.

I told her SPRINT would probably let her upgrade if she wanted, but from my reading it doesn't seem like they will. We haven't checked yet. Will do that this week.

Depending on the length of time she has left her best bet is to call their bluff. Call in and tell them you want to cancel and go with AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, or whoever. Tell them they are offering phone X which has the following features at no cost for a 2 year contract, never say one year nobody does that and they'll call your bluff. Make sure the features match the phone you want from Sprint. They'll go into haggle mode at this point, don't budge.

Also call at the end of the month. Retention Representatives (that's what the cancellation reps are called) have a certain rate they have to meet. If it's the end of the month and that number isn't right they'll give away the store.

Buz, it uses the Sprint network so you should be fine.

Note they don't slam Sprint for it's ultra right wing political leanings on their site.
