Hi All:
I know I've seen it on here before but can't find it....
I have a renter who needs a crib/highchair/stroller delivered to our house, does anyone know the company on 30A that does this? Much Thanks!

One of my renters was asking that question last week and I told them to look into Baby's Away of Destin at 850-267-2346 or 888-281-9030.

We used Crib Connection for our trip in May. Got a baby bed and a high chair from them. I think the cost for both items was around $85 for the week, plus a $15 delivery fee. The items were in the condo when we arrived.

I'm sorry for hijacking this thread but it is sort of related. Are there serious liability issues with leaving a port-a-crib and/or high chair in the rental unit for renters to use? The port-a-cribs are well made and pretty safe; but I'd be worried about the high chair not remaining in good repair.

We have a port-a-crib in the bunk room closet but haven't advertised it because we're not sure if we should. The high chair is in the owners' closet because I'm afraid of what would happen. Maybe we should have renters who want to use them sign a liability form in advance?

It seems so silly and expensive to have to rent them when you get there, and they aren't easy to lug in the car either. We would like to offer them but we're a little afraid. We do keep a baby gate in there for the bottom of the stairs.

From someone who has a one-year old, if the high chair is not safe, you need to throw it away. Heck, you can buy a brand new high chair for less than $60. If your renters inquire about it, rent it to them for a few dollars less than the local companies who do this. After the third rental, you will start to make money.

EDIT: Yes, I would make them sign some kind of waiver. Just draw up a document you can email to them. They can sign it and mail it back to you.

Oh, I think our high chair is fine. But those things can lose their straps, and pieces of plastic can break off, and since we're not there all the time to check on things, we couldn't very well guarantee that it would be in good repair every time it is needed. That's my big concern with the high chair. The portacribs are pretty idiot-proof, so maybe we'll draw up a waiver and offer that to our guests who need it. I hate packing them up! It's just another thing to take up trunk space.
