Allow the artist within your child to thrive at the Bayou Arts Center! This summer, Cultural Arts Alliance will host two youth workshops in its lovely studio space at Hogtown Bayou. Workshop activities include, but are not limited to, drawing, printmaking, painting, and creating books. Classes are designed for children of all artistic abilities with fun and creativity for everyone as our goal.
Three day workshops will take place on June 18 - 20 and July 16 - 18 from 9 to 12. Fee is $30 per child per day. Ages 5 to 12. Sign up for one day or all three! To register please contact Lee Greene at 850-622-5970 or Lee@culturalartsalliance.com.
June 18 | Angels & Fairies with Mary Moses
Put on a smile and grab a lunch 'cuz here's a class you'll love a bunch! Glow-in-the-dark fairy class for kids is magical and fun! Learn how to paint a beautiful fairy that will shine with glitter and glow-in-the dark! She'll sparkle in the day and glow at night. When you're finished, write your secret wish on the back of her with invisible glow-in-the-dark paint that you can only read at night! Fun for all ages.
June 19 | Watercolors with Carol Dickson | 12 to 3 pm
Sea turtles, fish and butterflies oh my! Instructor Carol Dickson will show your child how to have fun painting with watercolor. Learn the basics, experimenting with the amount of water on the brush and the paints, how to make colors blend and not turn to mud, and the different techniques for using water and paint such as wet on wet, wet on dry, etc. This class is fun for all ages and abilities.
Please bring a brown bag lunch.
June 20 | Book Making and More with Mandy Yourick
Mandy is just with us for the summer and your children will love her! During this fun filled day students will learn how to make two kinds of books: an accordion and a flip book. Other creative and exciting drawing activities will be incorporated throughout the day. Please bring a brown bag lunch.
