Italian coffee and gelato! And lots of sweet treats...
Destin, FL (April 2, 2018)…Cups & Cones, one of Destin Commons’ newer eateries, is locally owned by Bonnie Perry, a resident of Miramar Beach for the past 10 years, It’s not a franchise, and except for their Italian made coffee, all the store’s products are custom made in the store and purchased fresh from local suppliers.
“Cups” denotes Cups & Cones’ cups of coffee products and blends offered that are exclusively by famed Italian coffee maker, Guglielmo Papaleo. Coffee, shipped directly from Italy, is fresh ground and pressed through a special Italian press called a Cimbalia. Italian-style coffees, such as expressos, cappuccinos, lattes, Americano and iced coffees are on the coffee menu.
“Cones” stands for Cups & Cones’ offerings of Gelato Italian ice creams that are locally made by the family that makes their own Italian Gelato, which is now available nation-wide. Customers can order a variety of items such as cones, shakes, and other favorites like hot lava cake sundaes, frozen floats, mud pies, frozen tropical cake, and more. All the Gelatos are served stand alone, or with freshly baked cakes, muffins, scones, cookies, key lime pies or cheese cakes.
One of their top-sellers is a dessert called Affogato, comprised of a scoop of Gelato of choice, a fresh pulled shot of espresso, and then topped with whipped cream…very Italian indeed.
Perry commented, “We’re proud that we can buy our products fresh from local businesses. And, as far as Gelato is concerned, one can hardly tell the difference between ice cream and Gelato, except that Gelato has been proven to be more healthy – it is made with more milk than cream, folded, then frozen which makes it denser.”
Award-winning Destin Commons is anchored by Bass Pro Shops, Belk, H&M, Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl & Grill, Lush, and AMCDestin, a 14-screen movie theatre.
