We are planning to vacation in the area in early May. We stayed in Inlet last fall, but enjoyed visiting Seaside and Rosemary. Our preschoolers love the beach and the pool--I wanted to know if most homes in Seaside are within a 5 minute walk or so to both (hard to tell from map). Also, curious about current construction in Seaside, as well as status of beach walkovers. Any info would be great!

:welcome: Watermelon Sue!

The towns of Rosemary and Seaside are about 8-10 miles apart. If you want to be close to Rosemary, as you know Inlet Beach is a great place, but Seacrest Beach is another option -- it's a development on the other side of Rosemary with a 12,000 sq foot lagoon pool that kids absolutely love. Seacrest is right between Rosemary and the new development Alys Beach, which mostly has a coffee shop/magazine/bookstore open right now.

If you want to be close to Seaside, I would stay on the west side of Seagrove Beach. There are a few people on this board with homes that are walking distance to Seaside.

Beaches are looking great and all walkovers are open, as far as I have heard! You should have no problems wherever you stay. If you think you might be interested in staying at Seacrest, we have a 3BR/3BA home with outstanding, unobstructed Gulf views from two floors. Send me a private message if you are interested!

Good luck with your search. This is the right place to come for the best info!

You can get to the beach or one of the Seaside pools from most of the houses in Seaside in about 5 minutes. Some are a little shorter, some a little longer, but it's decent access from anywhere in Seaside.

However, if you'd like a house next to Seaside (they'll be less expensive than Seaside) in the west side of Seagrove, as mentioned in the previous post, there are several to choose from, with private pools, including mine that is a minute from the beach! PM me if you'd like more info.

Aw, just bite the bullit and stay in Seaside. It's a wonderful experience to really belong and not just be "almost there".
