I was heading east on 98 and got into the left turn lane in order to turn left onto 331. I was stopped 2nd in line at the traffic light waiting for the light to change. The travel lanes had a green light and this is where the speed limit is 55. Some guy in the leftmost travel lane decides he wants to turn left at the light and just stops in the travel lane with a green light in front of him. People speeding behind him at 55-60 had to swerve around him and they're honking at him. He's there for about a minute until the light changes for a left turn and he wants to get in. I didn't let him in, but the car behind me did. I couldn't believe anyone would stop in the high speed lane at a green light.

It's a daily adventure to see how stupid tourists can be. I watched two sets of them drag race in golf carts today, on a public street. Yipee!!

Driving 98 westbound this evening approaching the light at 393. Light turns red and some idiot 2 cars behind me starts freaking out because they can't get in the left turn lane. Honking, yelling, and gesturing, they finally bounce over the median into the turn lane. The unmarked police car behind me flips on the lights and proceeds to pull them over.

This tells me two things.

1. Don't be a jerk
2. Tourists are gone, time for WCSO to start enforcing the law again.

Glad there was a police car around to see it. The redlight running I this area scares the crap out of me. I tell my visitors to pause after the light turns green to give these pricks time to get through the intersection.

The high speed drivers are definitely out and about. Almost every time I drive down 30A I have someone on my ass. Rest assured this only causes me to slow even more and stop for every single pedestrian or bicyclist trying to cross.

Or, worse, last Sunday evening, as I returned home from work at 12:15am, I'm driving on Hwy 98 heading east as I passed the Walmart, and I come upon two SUVs in front of me that are doing only 30mph. I moved a bit to the center toward the median to look around them to see why they might be going so slow. In front of the guy in front of me (in the "fast" lane) is a purple mid-2000's sedan running neck-and-neck with a silver mid-2000's sedan (presumably his friend). Evidently, they were having fun creating their own mid-night rolling road-block. To the SUVs' credit, neither of them made any aggressive moves, which took some of the fun away from the sedans. The SUVs eventually turned off before we went too far, which left me behind these dipsticks....so I put on my hazard flashers, gave them plenty of space, and followed them at 25-30mph until they both finally turned off at Church Street. Of course, when you want a cop (which is why I put on my flashers), they are nowhere to be found....... I've seen the purple sedan around before, and figure (due to the late time of the night) that the person who has it is part of the restaurant service crowd. Regardless, it is someone to avoid.

Sounds like Memphis drivers. Not all tourists are gone. My hubby and I are down here and PC Beach is full of them. But we are over in PC Beach. But this isn't something new, we see this at home as to people driving 25-30 in a spot where it should be 50 or 55. And blocking you in where you have no way to pass them at all which forces you to stay behind them which sucks. And they are sitting with the windows down many times talking back and forth and don't care if the light is green.Common occurrence. Probably a lot of that down here.
