Walked from the public beach access at Inlet to High Pointe. Two houses are destroyed- think by street it would be on Pompano. Older houses- one-story, flat roofs.

From the access, we passed a yellow house, then a blue house, then a tan colored stucco. Right beside the stucco was the blue one story that is now face down on the beach. Beside it is a brick one story, the front corner of the house is gone right up to the sofa :sosad:

The houses just past that have nothing underneath them except the stilts, don't know if that is repairable or not :dunno:

Behind those houses is a tall cream colored stucco then an even taller cream colored stucco behind it (almost has a pink tint compared to the one in front of it) That house has a lot of damage to the top floor.

Things are getting back to normal, most restaurants are open, several more cars on the roads than there were earlier

Re: I have info on Inlet Beach- Pompano

Thanks for the info - I still haven't seen that house that fell. Must have been a site!

Re: I have info on Inlet Beach- Pompano

If someone owns a house in Inlet that is front row on the gulf. Chances are that is not a good thing. I can only remember maybe 2 that weren't totally messed up. Sand partially (at least 25%) eroded out from under it. Some looked like So. Carolina beach houses on stilts. Really makes ya think about owning a gulf front house.

BTW - If you do have a gulf front house and the sand partially or totally erodes out from under it. Do you loose it? Is it condemned? Do you make repairs and truck in sand? What generally happens?

It will depend on how bad it is undermined and if their is structural damage. For some it will come down to which solution costs less and what their insurance company says.
