During the second three months of 2004, the Walton County Board of County Commissioners granted final development order approval for 12 single-family subdivisions totaling 337 lots; one 60-room inn; 1,213 other residential units; 20 condo units; two apartment complexes totaling 202 apartments; 160,000 square feet of mixed business including showrooms and retail; 37,323 other retail square footage; non-residential square footage including commercial, storage and warehousing totaling a whopping 447,147 square feet; two abandonments; two small scale amendments; two one-year development order extensions and four temporary modular office units.
During the first three months of 2004, the Board of County Commissioners granted final development order approval for two single-family developments totaling 517 residential lots and five single-family subdivisions totaling 59 lots. One 69-unit town home, ten duplex units, nine lofts, one 75-room hotel, two light industrial / business parks totaling 50 lots, one 31,200 square-foot regular mini-warehouse, 21,816 square-feet of warehouse, 14,660 square-feet of offices, 24,040 square-feet of retail and 11,000 square feet of commercial space were also approved, as well as one 250-foot and one 300-foot tall communications tower and eight small scale amendments changing the land use designation of various properties. During the same time period the Walton County Building Department issued permits for 426 single family homes with an estimated construction cost of approximately $127 million.
