SANDESTIN, Fla. (July 6, 2005) ? The world?s most famous mouse is tapping into the Destin market. Disney?s Character Warehouse will open by July 15 at Silver Sands Factory Stores, center officials announced.
?The Disney outlet will offer the same merchandise that is available at WALT DISNEY WORLD? Parks and Resorts, so anything that is sold at stores there could make its way to Silver Sands,? said Traci Stokes, Marketing Director for Silver Sands Factory Stores.
George Annan, Manager of Merchandise Liquidation, said that store merchandise can include anything from Disney T-shirts, hats and other clothing, (including Disney Golf apparel), to toys, stationery and a variety of other Disney-themed memorabilia, including the Disney pins that are highly coveted by traders. ?This is a true liquidation store, so new items will be available all the time, and at prices anywhere from 50% to sometimes 90% off the regular retail price,? he said.
?We?re excited to bring a little touch of the Disney ?Magic? to the Emerald Coast by playing an active role in the local community,? Annan said. ?Right now, we?re looking for some additional Cast Members and are also planning to help with the ?Backpack-to-School? program sponsored by Silver Sands Factory Stores and Destiny Worship Center.?
Silver Sands Factory Stores, a Howard Group Development, currently features more than 100 designer outlet stores with 450,000 square feet of retail space, and ultimately 700,000 planned. Designer merchandise is available at up to 75 percent off retail price. It is the nation?s largest designer outlet Center, drawing more than six million shoppers annually. Silver Sands is located on U.S. Highway 98, one mile west of Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Center hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call the Center Office at (850) 654-9771 or visit online at silversandsoutlet.com.
WALT DISNEY WORLD? Parks and Resorts is where the ?Magic? lives and home to Disney's beloved characters. The segment traces its roots to 1952, when Walt Disney formed what is now known as Walt Disney Imagineering to build DISNEYLAND? Park in Anaheim, California. Today, The Walt Disney Company operates or licenses ten theme parks on three continents with an eleventh park currently under construction in Hong Kong, along with thirty-five resort hotels, two luxury cruise ships and a wide variety of other entertainment offerings.
