shades is having a crawfish boil 2/28! see thread.

otherwise, you need to call the Goat and see if they have cooked crawfish for pick up and/or live for doing your own boil!

I know what you mean. sometimes you just crave 'em. but sometimes when you get them from a restaurant or festival they are mushy and just no good. I'm sure Shades will have some expert crawfish boil folks on hand so we won't have to worry.

Somewhere near Freeport

One time The Shadowman :ninja: took me to a little hole in the wall....I think it was in Freeport. I cannot remember the name. Maybe someone else on SoWal has been there. The owner made a run over to LA. to get his from or near Momou once or twice a week, then boils them up. As fresh as you can get and oh so YUMMY! This little place is better known as a seafood shop, as crawfish are only in season a short time. I think there were only two tables and we set in a far left corner next to the front window and a cooler! They were so delish!!!! Good Luck!!!

P.S. As much as my friend liked to keep all his "finds" to himself I may have been blindfolded on the way over.:rotfl::roll:

The place to which you refer is Nick's Seafood Shop in Freeport on old Hwy. 331 not far past the stop light on the way to DeFuniak. It is not the restaurant on Hwy 20. but owned by the same people. The crawfish boil was every Sunday afternoon during crawfish season. I haven't checked with them this year but you are right about it being wonderful! Come to think of it, I need to call them and see if they are doing them again this year.
