dog adoption

Does anyone know of anyplace that takes dogs for adoption? I knew there used to be someone in Santa Rosa Beach. We have a golden retriever that is almost 2 years old that we need to find a home for. Any suggestions?

That's so sad that you have to give up your puppy. Dog rescue is one of my "pet" issues...no pun intended. Might want to start by networking with friends and family, so there is the least amount of trauma for the little fellow. If that fails, you can try one of the Golden Retriever rescue organizations in Florida:

I have friends in Black Mtn, NC who just lost their dog. They had to put her down. I know they will be getting another one soon. PM me and tell me more about your dog. They may consider a two yr old.
Heck, I may even consider it depending on the circumstances of your wanting to give him up. What is one more dog?

If you've got any military friends, see if they can get the dog into Pet Welfare on Eglin AFB. They're no-kill there.
