It is 636 miles from Louisville, KY to Grayton Beach, door to door. With children, that translates to 11 to 13 hours, depending on traffic, food stops, and pulling over to make empty threats about punishment if they don't stop whining.

I think the Mers make it to SoWal from Indy in about the same time, even though it is 2 hours north of Louisville!!:clap_1:

From our house in Hoover (Birmingham) to our house in Seagrove...door to door...243 miles...I can drive it in 4 hours...no, I did not say driving at the speed limit...nor do I let anyone out to take potty breaks, or stop for fuel! I am serious about getting there!

I am like Mermy...you just have to wait to go to the potty!

If you are leaving on a holiday weekend, Friday night, from North Atlanta with a moving truck and a car full... 1 adult, 3 kids (one of them a newborn), a cat and 2 hermit crabs, it can take 11 hours (5 hours in ATL itself - no stopping) to get from there to Santa Rosa Beach. Pure hell to get to heaven.

Add in the fact that we underestimated the size of moving truck we needed and had to leave a chunk of stuff in good ol' Alpharetta even made it more laughable. Glad we're not pack rats, we'd have needed 2 of them!

My FIL lives in Charleston, SC... I think it's only supposed to be 8ish hours from Charleston to here. Well, it took us 12. And trust me, my DH rarely drives the speed limit. We must have stopped a dozen times for potty breaks, snack breaks, nursing breaks, walking breaks, etc... Totally insane and made me never want to go back.
Though, for some reason I can make it to New Orleans in 4 hours.

Asheville, NC -- I don't know the distance in miles, but the time is always between 9 hours and 9 hours 15 minutes, no matter the route which I take. That includes gas fillups, quick eats, and dog poops along the way.

EDIT: you can add another 15 minutes if Destin is your destination. It wouldn't be mine, as the only thing I like in Destin in the Rave.

In the panhandle, man...
Jacksonville, FL - a drive I take often, is about 4 hours and 40 minutes with one stop.
It's also probably one of the most arduous point-to-point drives in florida - the monotony is just brutal...
FYI - there is a couple of non-stop flights between Pcola & J'ville each day now, a service I wish they would introduce out of Eglin...
