Turn your lights off for one hour beginning at 8:30 pm Saturday, March 27. It does not designate a time zone, which they should imo, only mentioned local time. Light the candles and have funn!

Thanks, Franny. With lights turned off, the stars over SoWal should be brighter. Wish we could figure out how to get some to turn off their multiple (totally unnecessary imo) dock lights.

Yes that is a problem. We had a problem with the dock owners two doors down....they had a spotlight that was left on 24/7 and no one living there.:dunno:

That was so cool. Sat on sixth step on back deck. Nice quiet evening. In fact, very quiet. Guess it is too early for the owls to be hooting. Could hear the waves to the left and then, with a different sound, over the outfall. Orion's Belt was clear and bright to the southwest. Moon over shoulder was bright and approaching full moon early next week. Stars to the east weren't as clear.

I was born on the first celebrated Earth Day, April 22, 1970. Both Earth Day and I will celebrate our 40th birthdays in a few weeks. Think I'll plant a tree.

We spent half the time lounging on the golf course with the two dogs, who were loving that breeze. It got a bit chilly for us, though, so we came in and I meditated while Mr. C napped for the remainder of the hour. I noted Orion, also, DL - one of the few constellations I'm able to pick out easily. I mentioned to Mr. C that I'd like our next vacation to be to a place where stars are abundantly visible.
