For you local SoWallers who did not go- shame shame shame!!!! Eden was beautiful! This will be an annual event for our family. Kate was having a little envy issue since 2 little girls her age were dressed in costumes and part of the tour.

We noticed the light crowd, and were very surprised. The house tour guides were very surprised as well, saying that last year they had 1200 people come through. The donation bowl in the front hallway was looking a little light.:sosad:

My favorite part of the house was the smell. I love that old house smell, and it was a treat to catch a whiff of it here, since nothing much around here is really that old.

Even if you missed the Christmas tour, go by Eden anyway. The camellias are blooming, and they are having a fabulous plant sale too! I'm going back today!

If we had been in town we would have gone. Sorry we missed it.

It was beautiful and special as always! a real local tradition. I know there were many other events going on last night and lots of folks didn't know about it for some reason. I feel lucky to know we have Eden's christmas tradition in our own neighborhood and we can always count on it whether crowds are big or small. It was definitely a smaller crowd compared to last year. but that's okay.

the camelia's are gorgeous and in full bloom all over the grounds. you can purchase a potted camelia that is grown from their big old heirloom plants in the gardens. about $15.
