I finally made it out to Edwards in Rosemary Beach last night with a few friends. Driving into Rosemary Beach around 6pm during spring break season, I was a tad concerned about finding a place to park. The Thursday night concert series was cranking with outdoor music with a nice crowd and people were wandering around town, some still in beachwear and some heading out to dinner.
Found parking with no hassle and headed into the restaurant where we were immediately seated. First come first served at Edwards so we were fortunate to arrive early. I have heard so many great things about the menu but I already knew what I wanted so I ordered the grilled steak with frites (steak with salsa verde, pomme frites and arugula). I truly enjoyed every tender bite of steak and always appreciate hand cut french fries, especially with a nice sauce for dipping. We were not rushed and enjoyed a leisurely meal with a nice red wine. Already, I am dying to go back for the capellini pommodoro ordered by Whitney - why didn't she share? I didn't share either, oh well.
I really enjoyed the European style outdoor courtyard atmosphere complete with an outdoor kitchen, very warm heaters, a black and white Audrey Hepburn movie projected on the wall and live music by Forrest and Pherrol Williams.
Chef Ed and Erin have truly created a very special place for locals and visitors to relax and enjoy fine food and wine along with good music in a cozy setting. There were families with kids, couples, small groups of friends and a celebrity siting (dude from Lady Antebellum), for a real mix of locals and visitors having. Chef Ed and team were very busy in the kitchen the entire evening - no doubt he's in his element, doing what he does best. Erin's daughter also works in the restaurant and took a break to sing a few songs - she was amazing and sings every Wed night.
You can enjoy live music while dining in the courtyard Wed-Sundays.Open 7 night per week, 5pm.
