For fun conduct a Google Search on "The Emerald Coast" and then "The Beach" and you will likely not be surprised.
The Emerald Coast has several sites even with a map showing the area from Pensacola to Port St. Joe and mentioning Walton County, too!
Guess what you will find on "the Beach" search? Nothing.
I ran a few errands this afternoon and picked up several magazines and publications along 30A. Examples included: "Emerald Coast Magazine," "Natural Awakenings, Emerald Coast Edition," "SEE Emerald Coast, An Insider's Guide to Florida," "The Beachcomber, the Emerald Coast's Premier Entertainment Newspaper," Premier Beachhomes of the Emerald Coast," etc.
