Extended warranties on used cars????

This info on used car warranties was much needed today--thanks! I am trying to help my daughter buy a good used car and have narrowed down to probably a VW Jetta or Honda Accord. I have always loved my Audis so I think the Jetta would be a good idea and both of these cars have the side airbags and other safety features. I worry about high mileage but feel reassured by these posts. Do I also need to be concerned if the Jetta was not made in Germany? I will be checking VIN numbers.

The fit/finish of the Puebla, Mexico plant product is not good. The Honda lacks the sophisticated road feel of the Jetta, but is an easier car to live with in terms of reliability.
