Yesterday was the hottest day I can recall from my 13 years here.....don't know about global warming, following the coldest winter I can recall in the same number of years, but nobody can argue that a 116 feels-like in the afternoon, or 112 feels-like last night at 10:30 is anything short of HOT! Might as well be in Death Valley....oh, wait, that's a "dry heat".

Yes, i don't recall it being this hot in the 7 years we've been here. My front porch is about 4 feet off the ground and has a roof on it. It turns into an oven in the afternoon even with a fan. However, on the ground under a tree is not so hot, and there is usually a breeze. Needless to say, although it's my favorite place, I'm not on my porch much these days. 
I think this is God's way of messing with all of us

I still prefer the heat to the cold.....it's the born-and-raised Southern Floridian in me. I was telling my wife last night that, when I grew up down south, we didn't have HVAC (only a fire place for 9 folks to share in winter) until I was 12, so I'm genetically programmed to deal with HOT. That said, I do like A/C!
We got some pretty extreme thunder, lightning, and rain yesterday eve. Then sat outside with the lanterns on when the power went out for hours! Good times. :roll:
Ooo-wee! We were out on a walk when we saw that cloud to ground lightening. I was giving my dh instructions to carry out in case I got zapped!
