Frankenstein: The 3D Podcast
Oct. 5, 6, 7 & 14 | Showtime: 7:30PM
MONSTERS, MAYHEM & MARACAS!!! Mary Shelley's 1818 literary masterpiece, "Frankenstein," undergoes an entirely new comedic interpretation as a live 21st-century podcast in this "hilarious and brilliant" new play from award-winning international playwrights and Escape 2 Create Alums, Nicholas Collett and Gavin Robertson, along with the talents of The REP's very own Brook Stetler.
For over a century, the story of Dr. Frankenstein and his famous monster has inspired countless books, films, television programs, and even Broadway musicals! But never before has this story been told by just three actors playing all the characters while making their own sound effects in front of a live studio audience in a theatrical podcast event in 3D!
What the heck is a 3D Podcast? Think of it as a live theatrical radio play for the 21st century that's meant to be seen, not heard. Be a part of the live studio audience! No special 3D glasses, headphones, or apps are required! All you need is a ticket for your seat, but you'll only use the edge!
Your Bard
Oct. 12 | Showtime: 7:30PM
An Audience With Will Shakespeare! Professor Nother is giving a talk about Shakespeare authorship at the Shakespeare pub – but he doesn’t believe the man from Stratford wrote those plays. That’s Will’s cue to kick the door off the hinges and defend his reputation. Come and meet the man himself and take the lid off a legend. He’ll tell you all about his family, what it’s like on tour and the glory days at the Globe. Queen Elizabeth I, Christopher Marlowe and Ned Alleyn – you’ll meet them too. Intermingled with a few of his greatest hits – and maybe a sonnet or a song. There’s no fourth wall here – we’re all in this together!! Ladies and gentlemen raise your glasses – Your Bard!
Bond: An Unauthorized Parody
Oct. 13 | Showtime: 7:30PM
Bond is back… older and wisecracking… Gavin Robertson focuses his attention on the Bond phenomenon in his latest physical cartoon style adventure by spoofing the characters adored by millions, and exploding every cliché in the book(s)… solo! In which Bond meets his greatest arch-villain yet: the creator of James Bond himself, British author Ian Fleming! Along with a slimy French sidekick, the usual female companion, and a time-machine! There’s no stopping the world’s greatest gentleman agent with a license to thrill. Also featuring the smallest car-chase in theatre history! To date this production has been seen in the UK, Eire, USA, Russia and Australia, but there is nowhere he can't get to...!
All performances are in the The REP's 75-seat Meeting Hall Theater.
