Hey guys. Just wondering some ideas for family friendly restaurants (ie. loud enough to drown out the occasional fit-pitching). We've been to the Red Bar, and it is a must do. We'll be staying in Seacrest, so anything close by would be helpful. Here's some that have caught my eye... What are your opinions?

Bud & Alleys?
Hurricanes?
Cowgirl Kitchen?
Cafe 30a?
Stinky's?
Smiling Fish Cafe?
Fire?
Shades at the Loop?

Any others?

I would say NO to toddlers at B&A, Cafe30a, Stinky's, Fire, and Smiling Fish. I think of those as more fine/adult dining restaurants.

Elmo's, Shades, Pizza By the Sea, Angelina's, (and a bunch more I can't remember) are much more kid friendly.

a few of our favorite "family friendly" spots to eat, and take kids:

Hot & Cold at WaterColor
Pizza by the Sea
Flip Flops, Seagrove
Wild Olives in Rosemary Beach
Red Bar
Stinky's
Smiling Fish Cafe'
Shades at the Loop
Hurricane's
Jambone's on 98

haven't been to CJ's, Mojitos on the bay, or Irish pub yet but we'll give 'em a try soon!

I miss 331 Cafe'. and Coco's - two of our favorite family places to eat.

I'd put Smiling Fish in the toddler-friendly category in the sense that most of the seating is outdoor casual and it's easy to take the small human for a walk around Gulf Place if they start getting too cranky or antsy.

The Old Florida Fish House on Eastern Lake is close to you at Seacrest and we've found it to be very toddler, grandkid friendly. Of course, go earlier in the evening. The band gets rocking later. But, the noise level and atmosphere is relaxing enough that you can relax with your toddler and enjoy your meal. Try to get a table by the water before sunset.

Bud & Alleys? I say yes at lunch
Hurricanes? Looks that way from the parking lot-doesn't look fancy fancy
Cowgirl Kitchen? sure and they do to go casseroles and such
Cafe 30a? not really
Stinky's? yes, I've seen lots of families but I'd say go early to avoid the extra stress of a long wait
Smiling Fish Cafe?
Fire?
Shades at the Loop?

I'd add Bayou Bill's Crab House, Angelina's Goatfeathers (I've had good and bad service there but good food both times, friends had great experience last summer), Jambones, Flip Flops, Taco shop in Seaside

We have a toddler and two other young kids. We are in Seacrest and we frequent Shades at the Loop, the Red Bar, Wild Olives and Cowgirl Kitchen. I'm tempted to try George's in Alys Beach but I don't get the sense that it's toddler friendly. Anyone?

I think the Old Florida Fish House would be appropriate as well, but I can't bring myself to go there because I miss Luna del Mar (the restaurant that used to be there) so much. :sosad:
