Due to several problems I was having with Internet Explorer on a new laptop I just switched over to Firefox. So far, I'm really impressed - it must be at least 3 times faster on this machine than IE. I've been downloading what plug-ins I can find, but I've got this terrible problem....I can't get Africam! :bang:

Has anyone else had this problem? I've been searching around trying to find a solution, but no luck here. Anybody got a fix for this zebra/giraffe lover?

TIA

No problems for me getting Africam. Check your pop up blocker bar that comes up when the sight is blocked. You can then set it to accept popups from that address for just this one time or always.

Thanks SJ,

Okay, I just did that, but with no change.

It tells me to "click here to download plugin". I do that and it says no plugin found. I do their system check and it tells me I don't have Windows Media Player installed, but I do. I've also pointed the wmv file type to use Windows Media Player.

I'm lost here. :dunno:

That sounds like MicroSoft is being stubborn again. I get something like that on occasion. I set RealPlayer as my video default, rather than MediaPlayer, and sometimes cannot get videos to play (even though I also have MediaPlayer installed.) The good news is that it happens only occasionally.

There are a couple of lurkers on here who are techies who may be able to help.

I use firefox too, but have to switch over to IE to view Africam. That's the only time I ever need or use IE.

Alas, IE crashes every time I click on the Africam link. Or on just about any other link for that matter. I've tried and tried and can't fix IE's problem.

Looks like I'll be getting a little more work done during the morning now. Bright side? Arggh. I so liked hearing the wildlife in the background. :sosad:

I'm putting this here to document the fix for this problem for others...and for me in the future. :)

Download the individual files from dlldump.com and place them in the Windows Media Player directory (usually C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player):

* npdsplay.dll: http://www.dlldump.com/dllfiles/N/npdsplay.dll
* npwmsdrm.dll: http://www.dlldump.com/dllfiles/N/npwmsdrm.dll
* npdrmv2.dll: http://www.dlldump.com/dllfiles/N/npdrmv2.dll

Save them in the c:\program files\windows media player folder.

If that doesn't work then save them to c:\program files\mozilla firefox\plugins folder.

It's still not exactly right for me, the wavelit screen looks a little squashed. I think it's because I have a wide screen on my laptop and the plugins for Windows Media Version 11 haven't been brought up to Firefox 2.0 requirements (or vice versa).
